I was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan but grew up primarily in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After growing out of my awkward jewfro days, I dropped out of Alleghany College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, eventually earning a bachelor of Arts in English, Creative Writing from the University of Pittsburgh, where I had the privilege of studying under Lewis "Buddy" Nordan and Chuck Kinder, wonderful mentors and writers.
Thinking I may attend law school, I worked in a large law firm in Pittsburgh which relieved me of any desire of going into law, but it did provide me the inspiration for The Fashions of the Times and motived me to attend grad school. I received my MFA in Creative Writing from The American University in Washington, DC. I worked eight years in advertising, which provided the inspiration for, you guessed it, The Ad Game.
I've written four novels and dozens of Schnippets, some of which were published in small zines that, sadly, no longer exist.
I've lived the last two decades in Leesburg, Virginia where my wife Theresa and I have raised our four children Olivia, Sophia, Elena and Jacob. I may or may not resemble a character in Judith.
